This is a collection my veteran portraits that started as a personal homework assignment in 2006 and still on going today in partnership with Belmont Village Senior Living. An ABC TV news correspondent said in one interview stated that “my collection of modern WWII veteran portraits is one of the largest collections in the world.”
The result is a coffee table book published with Welcome Books/Rizzoli (subsidiaries of Random House) called THE LAST GOOD WAR: THE FACES AND VOICES OF WWII and was named nonfiction book of the year in 2010 by the Forewords Review Magazine. My ongoing series and book aims to create a greater appreciation for veterans. There are over 35 permanent exhibitions and counting around the country and two permanent exhibitions at the Chicago O’Hare and Midway Airports.
